It finally begins.

After 6 years of dreaming saving and waiting i have finally begun building my Haynes Roadster.

My current progress:

I am using a 1999 1.8 MX5 as my donor car this was purchased nearly two years ago and used by myself as a daily driver during the summer of 2013.

 

Most recently i have started to strip the MX5 to remove all the parts required for the roadster and it now looks very different and no longer road legal.

Things really started to come together when Phil at Talon Motor Fabrication put together a christmas sale chassis package through the Haynes Roadster forum and a deal was done for Phil to supply the TMXR chassis, wishbones and diff cover. Having not done any welding before i didnt fancy a car chassis as my first project, I recomend anyone in the same position as myself to consider Phil as his product is first class. 

So now i have a chassis sat in the garage  and a growing pile of parts to play with. 

Im hoping to keep the blog updated weekly dependant on progress and hope my pictures and experiences can be of help.
